rzilient's commitments for a responsible digital future in 2022
This year 2021 marks the end of our first year of activity. And we are very proud of what we have accomplished!
For 2022, our will remains unchanged: we want to develop a sector where responsible digital is sustainable. To do this, it is time to explain our commitment wishes so that 2022 will be rich in improvements and transparency.
Strong commitments to achieve a 100% responsible approach
To ensure its commitment to a 100% eco-responsible approach, rzilient has joined forces with a number of partners, including Tech 4 Good Impact France and the Club de la Durabilité.
We are part of an approach where transparency is required and where our criteria for improvement and the points of commitment to be strengthened are visible, particularly thanks to Zei.
In order to take concrete action and not just pay lip service, we have decided to use the Zei tool to measure and, above all, control our impact.
After the initial diagnostic steps, our roadmap is now established with alternatives and ideas to follow to improve every impact of our business.
So, in concrete terms, how do we plan to improve in 2022? Here are the actions we want to take to reach 100% ecoresponsibility.
A Responsible Digital label in progress
In recent months, the CSR Platform has published various texts recommending that companiesintegrate digital and ESR into their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach to go even further in their environmental commitments.
At rzilient, to ensure that our approach is 100% in line with our desire to have an eco-responsible digital sector with the least environmental and social impact, our ambition is toobtain the Numérique Responsable label by February 2022.
To be labeled as a Responsible Digital Company, five points of commitment must be respected. We explain to you the actions that we put in place for that.
1. Strategy and governance
To be sure to have a multidisciplinary follow-up of our Digital Responsible approach, we are going to create a green iT committee which is composed of one member of each department:
- iT
- Tech
- Sales
- Operations
- Communication
- CSR
This is part of our circular economy scheme with responsible governance.
2. Support for the Digital Responsibility Strategy
In order for Responsible Digital Technology to become a real pillar within our company, our employees are trained in the challenges of this concept.
Each person becomes an ambassador for these issues to find meaning in their work and convey rzilient's vision: to raise awareness and educate, both internally and externally, about responsible digital issues.
These questions form part of rzilient's training plan, so that everyone gains in competence and involvement in the company.
3. The life cycle of digital services
To ensure that these issues of digital responsibility are not necessarily confined to rzilient, we've decided to make as many people as possible aware of them. To this end, we're seeking to make our platform users more aware of the eco-gestures and good digital practices they can adopt.
In 2022, rzilient will continue to expand its educational and awareness-raising content. Other partnerships will also be forged with responsible digital players to continue this vision of education and support on the impact of digital technology.
The challenge is to enable users to adopt a complete green iT approach while being aware of the underlying issues.
The green iT is more and more popular in companies, but it is important to understand these issues because this is how the digital footprint can sincerely be reduced.
This quest for improvement can be done at 360° thanks to our support on :
- the management of your equipment;
- the management of your software, your applications and your remote services;
- the management of your infrared network and your data.
4. Extend your responsible digital approach
Since the impact of digital technology does not only concern the company in its closest perimeter, it is important to raise awareness among all its stakeholders.
That is why in 2022 we are seeking to encourage our employees to contribute to a general interest project related to these issues via the Friday civic engagement platform.
Each month we aim to carry out a collective mission related to the issues of iT for green and iT for good. All this is in addition to the actions carried out in our responsible digital approach.
5. NSE products and services
To obtain the Responsible Digital label in 2022, we want to integrate these green IT issues into user feedback. The challenge is to evaluate the performance of our approach in order to improve the solutions and products we offer.
Formalization of the CSR policy
This Responsible Digital label would be incomplete without the reinforcement of a concrete CSR policy with ambitious environmental objectives. To achieve this, rzilient has adopted the LUCIE 2600 standard, a practical, down-to-earth version of ISO 26000 for organizations.
Our CSR policy seeks to go further by reinforcing 8 distinct points.
1. Become a mission-driven company
In 2022, our major objective is toobtain the status of a company with a mission to formalize our commitments. To achieve this, we have defined :
- our vision;
- our mission;
- our raison d'être.
Our mission-driven status will allow us to highlight our environmental and social objectives to show that financial profitability is not the only thing that motivates us.
2. Establish responsible governance
rzilient is already part of a circular economy scheme with responsible governance. To go further, we want to make our CSR intentions known to all our stakeholders: customers, users, suppliers, employees...
As with the NR label, everyone is involved in environmental issues.
3. Respect the rights of individuals
A good CSR approach cannot focus on environmental issues; those that affect the social aspect are just as important.
At rzilient, this translates into increased attention to the protection of personal data.
4. Have responsible relationships and working conditions
Social issues also focus on the quality of working life for employees. In 2022, one person will be dedicated to these human resources issues, working hand in hand with the CSR and RNE manager, as well as one of rzilient's co-founders.
If human resources are guided by the pillars of CSR, it is because we believe that it is happy and fulfilled employees that condition the good health of a company.
5. Preserve the environment
To further reduce our impact, we have carried out a carbon assessment with Sami. The challenge now is to align ourselves with the Paris Agreements to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in 2022.
6. Have ethical business relationships
derRzilient's vision is clear: we want to work towards the long-term development of a responsible digital industry. To achieve this, it is important to forge lasting links with our suppliers, so as to support them in reducing their environmental footprint.
All this has enabled rzilient to also reduce Scope 3 emissions, which are not systematically taken into account in the Bilan Carbone©, even though this is often the area that pollutes the most.
7. Respect the interest of consumers
To support our customers and users as best we can towards responsible consumption, rzilient's main aim is to raise awareness and show thata new way of consuming is possible.
Several actions are implemented:
- the possibility of renting its computer equipment;
- refusal to offer compulsive discounts;
- less incentive to consume.
The best way to achieve digital sobriety is simply to try to reduce your footprint, especially when you know how much the IT industry pollutes.
8. Develop local and general interest
In 2022, rzilient is committed to creating a carbon contribution project with Pur Projet. Far from the greenwashing that can surround the term "carbon offsetting", this "Ici on sème" project aims to enable the regeneration of forest ecosystems in France.
This year 2021 is only the beginning of a long adventure for the development of a sustainable and responsible digital sector. Despite the good points of this year, wewant to improve our approach to become 100% ecoresponsible.
These vows of commitment 2022 give you a glimpse of the things we need to improve at rzilient, because we are aware that we are not beyond reproach. They are proof of the current challenge for companies to be less polluting and more responsible.
If there is one thing that will not change in 2022, it is our ambition to educate on the subject of refurbished and green iT which can sometimes be criticized with mistrust and misunderstanding. We want to accompany all the professional actors in the reduction of their impacts thanks to the good practices and the green iT solutions.
