Reconditioning according to one of the French market leaders
Ecological awareness is accompanied by the need to consume differently, in a more responsible way. More and more popular, the solution of reconditioning participates concretely in this dynamic of transition towards a more respectful economy of the environment. Today, we are interested in a French actor of the field, which proposes entirely reconditioned devices in the west of France: Largo !
A demanding reconditioning process
The refurbished market has been booming for several years and now represents about 10% of cell phone sales in France. Established in Sainte-Luce, a town located a few kilometers from Nantes, Largo is one of the key players in this sector, which is attracting a growing number of buyers, attracted by products that are more ecologically responsible, but also more affordable than the offers available on the new market.
In order to succeed in becoming one of the leading companies in its sector, with 14% of the market, Largo has relied on its (almost) secret ingredient: a reconditioning process controlled from A to Z, which guarantees the quality of the products put back on sale.
Upon arrival at the refurbishment plant, each product, whether it is a smartphone, tablet or computer, is taken in charge by a technician. After receiving a reconditioning grade, intended to inform the future buyer about the aesthetic aspect of the device, it is then subject to a data deletion, then undergoes a series of 123 technical tests divided into 37 checkpoints (screen, battery, sound system, connectivity ...). During this crucial stage, which is partly automated, the slightest failure is immediately identified and the defective elements replaced.
The advantages of Made in France
Largo also defends its positioning as a French reconditioner. Unlike some retailers in the sector who subcontract the reconditioning of their products to other companies located outside our borders in order to increase their margins, the Nantes-based company has decided not to give in to the trend. A decision to be welcomed which is not without advantages, especially in terms of ecology. Indeed, before arriving in the hands of the buyer, the reconditioned products do not go around the world three times.
For the customer, "made in France" also represents the assurance of being able to take advantage of quality services, controlled from start to finish, thanks to a reconditioning process and an after-sales service centralized in France. In case of problem, Largo commits to repair or replace the defective device within 72 hours, once the latter is received. The buyer benefits from a 12 months warranty included with their order.
Going all French is also good for the local economy! Since its creation in 2016, Largo has generated around 50 jobs in the Nantes region and plans to recruit more in the coming months to continue its development.
A player committed to the circular economy
A player in the circular economy, Largo boasts that it has refurbished more than 220,000 smartphones since its inception, saving 18.1 million kg of raw materials, nearly 5,600 tons of CO2 and 4.5 million m3 of water. As the founders point out, 75% of a smartphone's carbon footprint is linked to its production phase.
The young Nantes-based company has been awarded the Lucie 26 000 CSR label and is in the process of obtaining ISO 14 001 and 9001 certification. It intends to continue along the same path as before: an eco-responsible packaging is being developed and collaborations with environmental and social associations are already on the agenda!
